The product image is a picture of a high quality scan of my original painting, from which the Giclee print will be made. Gallery images show the original drawing, and other views, including what the piece looks like framed. Because of the glistening paints and sparkling and glossy pens I use, pictures don’t do the final result justice. The hand repainted prints are spectacular. In a Horse's Earwas done at a time when Super Jess and i were wrestling with the possibility of adopting a child, or having IVF, At that time my work was never consciously about a particular subject, and it still rarely is. I prefer to meditate for a few minutes and let whatever is on my mind or in my psyche percolate, then smear the ink and see what appears. This one turned out to be a subconscious rumination on all the ways we see women in our lives personally and the ways women are portrayed in the media were deep in my mind, leavened with some thoughts about secrets and honesty.
