The product image is a picture of a high quality scan of my original drawing, from which the Giclee print will be made. Gallery images show the original drawing, and other views, including what the piece looks like framed. Because of the glistening paints and sparkling and glossy pens I use, pictures don’t do the final result justice. The hand repainted prints are spectacular. Working Without a Net was one of a series of drawings I did when I had abruptly been sent home from the road in May of 2019 by my pulmonologist and told I needed to get on disability and get on the lung transplant list. My health was declining rapidly. I used to go for treatments at a local healing center called "Culture Club" where they had a PEMF chair and would give you 10 minute treatments. There was a blindfold device which projected healing lights in wild patterns and colors you could also wear during treatment, but you had to keep your eyes closed. As I was receiving this treatment I had my Moleskine notebook on my lap and would draw, blindfolded with the lights flashing and undulating, what I saw behind closed eyes. Upon returning home I would fill in the lines and define shapes and add color. This was also the first of my pieces where I used paint in addition to the sparkling, glossy Japanese pens and fountain pen I normally use. I like this image because it captures exactly how i felt at the time, walking a thin wire that was the only thing standing between me and certain death. Luckily, I made it to the other side. This is one of my most popular images. I owe the name to Kevin Cronin.
